Chapter Philanthropy

East TN Children's Hospital

As a chapter we are so lucky to have a Children's Miracle Network Hospital right down the road from our campus.  Our members love to love on the kids at East TN Children's Hospital (ETCH) on a regular basis. Phi Mu as an organization surpassed our goal and raised over $20,000 for our philanthropy last year. We are so lucky to be able to sponsor a room in the Hematology/Oncology clinic at ETCH, exam room 9. We are proud to share that we are the 3rd highest fundraising Phi Mu chapter, and ETCH's 4th highest fundraising partner.

Boots and BBQ

Boots and BBQ is our annual Phi Mu tailgate in the Fall! We team up with local companies and sell tickets to students, parents, and fans for our cookout before a home football game to raise money for the East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

Bonnamu

Each Spring, the Kappa chapter hosts an annual spring concert called "Bonnamu". There are games, food trucks, shop vendors, and live music to enjoy, with all proceeds going to our philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals! We are lucky enough to have ambassador families from East Tennessee Children Hospital come speak at the event. We raised over $13,000 in 2019, and plan to double this at the next Bonnamu.

Hospital Parties

Phi Mu is proud to send our sisters to visit ETCH biweekly and play with the children. This includes several themed parties such as Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's where cards and goodies are made for the kids at the hospital.

Special Spaces

Every spring the sisters of Phi Mu redo the room of a child at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. The child picks out a theme for his or her room, and chapter members work together with the Special Spaces team to create it.

Telethons

Our Phi Mu sisters also participate in the annual Children’s Miracle Network Telethon that is organized by the hospital in Knoxville. Our sisters volunteer their time answering phones and taking donations for the hospital.
